In order to ensure the timely implementation of the directives and instructions of the Founder of Peace and National Unity—the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, with a view to developing the region’s infrastructure, an official delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan, comprising representatives of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan, the State Agency “Road Transport and Logistics Services,” the State Agency “Management of Enterprises Under Construction” of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Administration of the Free Economic Zone “Kulob” undertook a working visit to the Republic of Korea to present a report on the results of the project “Feasibility Study for the Construction of a Logistics Center in the FEZ “Kulob”” and to study the Republic of Korea’s best practices in the field of logistics infrastructure development.
During a meeting with representatives of the Korea Export-Import Bank (EXIM Bank) and the international consulting corporation PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers) of the Republic of Korea, issues related to accelerating work on the implementation of the project “Feasibility Study for the Construction of a Logistics Center in the FEZ “Kulob”” were comprehensively discussed, as well as subsequent stages leading to the full completion of work on the development of the “Feasibility Study for the Construction of a Railway Line to the “Kulob””.
It was noted that the establishment of a logistics center and the construction of a railway connecting the Free Economic Zone “Kulob” are closely interlinked, and the logistics strategy for the establishment and operation of the logistics center, as well as the overall development of the infrastructure of the Free Economic Zone “Kulob” is being considered.
As part of the working visit, arrangements were also made for a meeting between a delegation of official representatives from the Republic of Tajikistan and the heads and representatives of several international logistics companies in the Republic of Korea, including “LOTTE Global Logistic Co., Ltd,” “DONGBANG Transport Logistics Co., Ltd,” “Korea Ocean Business Corporation,” Coupang Goyang Logistics Center, Pyengtaek Logistic Center, KORAIL Logistics, GUNPO IFT, Korea Integrated Freight Terminal,” as well as railway stations and freight terminals. They held productive meetings, familiarized themselves with the companies’ operations and activities, and were invited to contribute to the construction of a logistics center and the laying of a railway line to the Free Economic Zone “Kulob”.
In general, the trip took place in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding.
