On November 22, 2024, on the initiative and support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, the International Investment Forum «Prospects for the Development of Free Economic Zones in the Republic of Tajikistan» was held. The purpose of the Forum is to present investment opportunities in the free economic zones of the country, create a space for constructive dialogue and exchange of ideas and experience with government agencies, domestic and foreign investors, international and national industry experts and development partners, increase investment attractiveness in free economic zones, import modern technologies, introduce e-commerce and the principles of the «green» economy in the activities of entities of free economic zones.
Before the start of the Forum, the participants took part in the EXPO exhibition of products of free economic zones and got acquainted with the activities and goods produced by business entities of the free economic zones of the country.
Within the framework of the Forum, new documents on cooperation in the construction of an international logistics center, a textile factory, an antifreeze plant, a transformer and electrical equipment plant, as well as the import and sale of cars were signed between the Administration of the Free Economic Zone «Kulyab» and other partners
. During the event, the head of the administration provided the participants with specific information on the investment opportunities of the free economic zone «Kulyab».
At the same time, during this event, the guests were given the opportunity to visit the Free Economic Zone «Kulyab» and get acquainted with the favorable investment climate, geographical location, infrastructure development, logistics capabilities and existing advantages.
In general, within the framework of the International Investment Forum «Prospects for the Development of Free Economic Zones in the Republic of Tajikistan» between the Administration of Free Economic Zones and domestic and foreign investors, 11 new cooperation documents worth more than 49.8 million were signed.
