On November 22, 2024, with the initiative and support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, the International Investment Forum “Prospects for the Development of Free Economic Zones in the Republic of Tajikistan” was held in the city of Kulob, Khatlon Region, in which representatives of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, leaders and representatives of relevant ministries and agencies of the country, international organizations, development partners and a wide range of domestic and foreign businessmen and investors, in total more than 300 people participated.
The purpose of the Forum is to present investment opportunities in free economic zones of the country, to create a space for constructive dialogue and exchange of ideas and experiences with state authorities, domestic and foreign investors, international and national industry experts and development partners, to increase investment attraction in free economic zones, import of modern technology. , implementation of e-commerce and principles of “Green” economy in the activities of subjects of free economic zones.
Before the start of the Forum, the participants took part in the EXPO exhibition of the products of the free economic zones and got acquainted with the activities and goods produced by the economic entities of the free economic zones of the country.
Within the framework of the Forum, new documents of cooperation were signed between the administration of the free economic zone “Kulob” and other partners on the construction of an international logistics center, a textile factory, a factory for the production of antifreeze, a factory for the production of transformers and electrical equipment, and on the import and sale of cars.
During the event, the Head of the Administration provided the participants with specific information on investment opportunities in the Kulob Free Economic Zone.
At the same time, during this event, guests were given the opportunity to visit the Kulob Free Economic Zone and get to know the favorable investment climate, geographical location, infrastructure development, logistics opportunities and existing advantages.
In general, within the framework of the International Investment Forum “Prospects for the Development of Free Economic Zones in the Republic of Tajikistan” between the Administration of Free Economic Zones and domestic and foreign investors, 11 new documents of cooperation with the amount of more than 49.8 mln. USD was signed.
